This large-scale work offers a tender depiction of daily life in District Six, Cape Town before the forced removals and demolition of the area in the 1960s. Through figures, houses and familiar landmarks such as mosques and Table Mountain, the work preserves the atmosphere of a neighbourhood later irrevocably transformed.
