In this life-size sculpture, Rihlampfu depicts a businessman straining to both push and pull an unseen load. Made from metal, leather and shredded banknotes, The Economist evokes the burden carried by low-paid labourers who sustain society, while the rope-like forms suggest both restraint and the possibility of repair or renewal.
